ROCHESTER, N.Y. — After nearly three decades, WXXI’s Executive Vice President and General Manager Susan Rogers is retiring Monday.
Rogers first joined WXXI in 1996 as chief operating officer. She was promoted to executive vice president in 1999, then named executive vice president and general manager in 2008.
During her time, Rogers oversaw WXXI’s transition from analog to digital broadcasting, its acquisition of The Little Theatre and CITY Magazine, and many other achievements.
Before joining in 1996, Rogers was an associate professor and the director of the office of distance learning at the Rochester Institute of Technology, where she was recognized as a leader in educational technology and distance learning.
Rogers’ last full-time day is Monday, but she will still consult with the CEO part-time.
