SEC reveals Alabama’s 2026 conference schedule ...Middle East

News by : (The Crimson White) -

The SEC hosted a football schedule release show Tuesday night, revealing each team’s conference opponents for the 2026 season.

“Bama’s schedule is pretty awesome,” former Alabama quarterback Greg McElroy said during the show.

Here’s the Crimson Tide’s draw:

Vs. Auburn

The Iron Bowl isn’t going anywhere. One of the premier rivalries in the sport is as a protected rivalry game that will remain for at least the next four years.

Alabama has owned the Tigers as of late, winning five straight matchups and nine of the last 11 meetings.

The Iron Bowl is “one of the most memorable and important rivalries in all of college football,” analyst Alyssa Lang said.

At Tennessee

Alabama and Tennessee will still play on the third Saturday in October 2026 for the second of three protected rivalry games. One of the most heated rivalries in the SEC will shift to Knoxville next season after the teams meet in Tuscaloosa this year.

Things have heated up in this rivalry in the past three years because the Vols have defeated the Crimson Tide in two of the last three meetings. The Vols 2022 win broke an Alabama win streak of 15 in a row.

At Mississippi State

“This game needed to come back,” SEC analyst Paul Finebaum said during the reveal. “They are literally next door to each other.”

Fans were up in arms after a two year hiatus from this beloved matchup. The two closest geographical schools in the SEC will play for the first time since 2023 and will be protected rivals for the next four years. Previously, the two teams had competed against each other in 79 straight seasons dating back to 1944.

The Crimson Tide has won 16 consecutive games against the Bulldogs in “The Battle for Highway 82,” but Mississippi State boasts a true homefield advantage that could give Alabama trouble next season.

“I love that they honored the geographical nature of the matchup between the Crimson Tide and the Mississippi State Bulldogs,” McElroy said. “Honestly, that was one of my least favorite games of the year. Why? Because they were tough as nails and it was an absolute dog fight every single time we played them. … They treated it like it was their Super Bowl.”

Vs. Georgia

Georgia and Alabama will face off for the third consecutive season, a treat that wasn’t too common when the conference was divided into divisions.

After last season’s thriller and what is a highly anticipated matchup in Athens this week, next season’s meeting could either look to extend Alabama’s streak to four straight wins over the Bulldogs or serve as a revenge game.

Vs. Texas A&M

The Aggies and head coach Mike Elko will head to Tuscaloosa for the first time since 2022, which was a narrow 24-20 victory for the Crimson Tide. This will be the 17th all-time meeting between the programs.

At Kentucky

Alabama will travel to Lexington for the second time in four years to take on the Wildcats.

Kentucky hasn’t beaten the Crimson Tide since 2003 and has been blown out in the last four meetings.

Vs. LSU

LSU won’t be able to avoid the Crimson Tide next season despite the conference’s move to slash protection of the previously annual rivalry game. However, the 2027 season will mark the end of this rivalry’s historic run.

The two teams have played every year since 1964, meaning the 2027 season will mark the first time the perennial powerhouses will not play in over 60 years.

Vs. South Carolina

Alabama will play host to South Carolina next season for the second time in three years. This will mark the 18th all-time matchup between the programs and just the fourth meeting since 2011.

Last season, the Crimson Tide narrowly edged the Gamecocks 27-25 in Tuscaloosa. The two teams will face off in a rematch in Columbia this year on Oct. 25.

At Vanderbilt

Alabama will make the trip to Nashville next season in hopes of not repeating the team’s 40-35 loss last season. The loss was the Crimson Tide’s first to the Commodores since 1984.

“I don’t know that anybody wants Vanderbilt,” Lang said.

Dates and times for games are TBA.
