Pink Floyd’s Only Grammy-Winner Was Played Live Just Twice Ever ...Saudi Arabia

News by : (Parade) -

Classic rock band Pink Floyd has a catalog filled with legendary songs —from "Another Brick in the Wall" to "Comfortably Numb" — but only one track ever earned the iconic rock band a Grammy. And it happens to be the same song they almost never played live.

Fans quickly answered Pink Floyd’s Facebook teaser this week: the only full-band live rendition of “Marooned” took place on August 29 and 30, 1994, at Valle Hovin Stadium in Oslo, Norway.

The only other time “Marooned” surfaced onstage came 21 years ago today — September 24, 2004 — when Pink Floyd and guitarist David Gilmour performed it at The Strat Pack, a star-studded concert celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Fender Stratocaster. The event showcased guitar legends from across genres, but for Floyd fans, it was another chance to hear the elusive track live.

Other guitarists featured that night included the Eagles' Joe Walsh, Thin Lizzy's Gary Moore, Queen's Brian May, The Shadows' Hank Marvin, and Genesis' Mike Rutherford.
