GREECE, N.Y. — The Greece Police Department’s Special Police Unit is looking for volunteer special police officers.
Special police officers help with traffic control, crowd management, and public safety at community events to make sure they run smoothly. The department says these efforts by volunteer officers help full-time officers focus more on emergency calls and law enforcement responsibilities.
Special police officers are New York State certified Peace Officers. The department says all training, uniforms, and required equipment are provided. In order to apply, you must:
Be 20 years old or older. Be a United States citizen. Have a high school diploma. Live in Monroe County. Have a valid driver’s license. Be medically and physically fit.
