In a trend that’s been happening with multiple online casino states, West Virginia set a new monthly iGaming revenue record in August.
The West Virginia Lottery reported that online casinos in West Virginia recorded $32.8 million in revenue last month. That bested the previous record of $30.1 million in March and was a 66.5% improvement from the $19.7 in August 2024.
August’s revenue total continues a trend of West Virginia soaring to a new yearly revenue record when all is said and done. Thus far, the state is well over 50% ahead of the revenue pace it was on in 2024.
West Virginia Online Casino Revenue Up 57% in 2025
It’s been an exceptional year for West Virginia online casinos when it comes to revenue.
The trend started to show last last year, and has only grown since. Starting in January, seven of the eight months have seen revenue growth of at least 50% year-over-year.
The state has also hit at least $24.9 million in every month of 2025, now topping the $30 million mark for the second time this year in August.

The month of August was good for pretty much all of the license holders. Greenbrier Historic Resort recorded $15.9 million of the total revenue, approaching half of the state’s $32.8 million.
Hollywood Casino at Charles Town was next with $10.7 million.
Greenbrier includes online casinos BetMGM, FanDuel and Golden Nugget. However, last week FanDuel announced it will be switching up its market access partner to Delaware North. That will put FanDuel under Mardi Gras Casino & Resort in the future. Mardi Gras recorded just a fractional amount of revenue in August as it utilizes Betly for its online revenue.
Bringing in FanDuel should definitely provide a boost when that new partnership takes place.
