A BBC presenter has taken a swipe at Strictly contestant Thomas Skinner by sending sympathies to his dance partner.
Scandal-hit Thomas, who revealed to The Sun on Sunday that he had an affair just weeks into his marriage, is partnered with Welsh dance pro Amy Dowden.

Following the announcement, Peter Levy, who fronts BBC Look North, wrote on X: “’ feel sorry for Amy Dowden…”
Other viewers also agreed with Peter, as the BBC continues to face mounting pressure to axe the former Apprentice star from Strictly.
One fan replied: “She deserves better with all she’s been through”.
While another wrote: “She does not deserve this”.
But Thomas was quick to fire back, responding on X: “Don’t feel sorry for Amy, Peter.
“She is an incredible woman, a fighter, and we’re gonna have a great time together on Strictly. In fact we haven’t stopped laughing. Maybe instead of making daft digs at me, you should be cheering on a brilliant dancer who’s beaten bigger battles that you and I have had to face.
“Anyway, you stick reading the autocue, I’ll stick to learning the cha-cha. I will be working my hardest on learning to dance so I don’t let her down. I want to do as well as possible, not just for myself but for her as-well. Bosh.”
The reaction comes just a week after Thomas admitted having a “two week” affair less than a month into his marriage with wife Sinead back in 2022 with beautician Amy-Lucy O’Rourke, and told The Sun on Sunday last week that he will never forget the heartbreaking moment he told Sinead that he had “f***ed up”.
Fighting back tears, he said: “My wife is the best thing that’s ever happened. I’m so lucky she forgave me. It was the worst thing I’ve ever had to do. It was terrible. I’m a very, very open book and I don’t hide anything from my wife.”
Amy-Lucy, 35, has claimed Thomas told her that his marriage was a “loveless relationship of convenience” and he planned to marry her one day.
The shocking revelations piled pressure on the BBC, who faced calls to axe the star from the family show, but the broadcaster has so far stood firm and continued with him.
Thomas hit back at his critics last night after the launch episode aired, writing on X: “Life ain’t easy. I’ve been kicked down an called every name under the sun recently and probably some of it I deserve, as yes I ain’t always right.
“But since I got invited to have a BBQ with JD Vance….its gone crazy. Certain people are doing everythin they can to ruin me. Mainly Faceless accounts givin it large and abusing me, hypocrites making everything political”.
continued: “Now I see people are fumin’ that I’m on Strictly…. and the funny thing is that the majority of them got “be kind” wrote in their bios. You couldn’t make it up. Let me tell you this. I won’t be cancelled. I ain’t gonna kill myself like some of you want. I’m still here. I’m still standin.”
He added: “Trust me when I say this; I am stronger than people think. Every insult, every lie, every attack….it don’t break me, it builds me stronger. I built what I got from nothing.
“I Slept on a pull-out bed on the floor for years cus I never had a bedroom. Weirdos write rubbish on Wikipedia about my upbringing that ain’t true, but they can’t take away what I’ve built with graft & fight.”
