The designation means Greenlaw will miss a minimum of four games, as Denver now faces a continued uphill climb in coverage over the middle of the field without a key free-agent signing.
The Broncos signed Greenlaw to a three-year, $31.5 million deal this offseason with $11.5 million fully guaranteed, after a standout run with the San Francisco 49ers. Greenlaw, though, played just two games last year in rehabbing a torn Achilles in February 2024’s Super Bowl and then tore his quad this offseason.
Greenlaw didn’t take many live reps in camp and has missed the Broncos’ first three games of the year after a flare-up during a July practice. He was a limited participant in Denver’s Week 2 Friday practice, ushering in optimism he’d make his debut in Week 3 against the Chargers.
A source told The Post that Greenlaw had a “small” setback in his recovery this week, though. His next chance to make his debut will come in Week 7 against the New York Giants.
