He provided the following quote regarding his school selection:
I am truly blessed to announce my commitment to further my academic and athletic career at Texas A&M University. This would not have been possible without the support from my friends, family, and coaches. I would like to thank Coach Blair, along with the rest of the Texas A&M staff for this amazing opportunity to be apart of the Aggie family! Gig’Em!

Vitiello’s first target meet of the 2024-25 was the U.S. Open in December. He produced a standout swim in the 200 back, as he qualified for the B-final after recording a time of 1:46.70 in prelims. He returned in the evening session to lower his mark to 1:45.74, taking 11th overall. Beyond that, he also registered a then-career best of 50.29 in the 100 back, touching 37th in prelims. He rounded out his events with a season-best 4:35.52 in the 500 free, finishing 32nd.
The future Aggie had his most successful meet of this season at the CRA Invitational, a week after the U.S. Open, where he notched lifetime bests across multiple events. He won six gold medals, claiming victory in the 200 free (1:39.56), the 500 free (4:31.53), the 100 back (50.14), the 200 back (1:46.01), the 200 IM (1:49.18), and the 1000 free (9:19.08). His performances in the 200 free, 100 back, and 200 IM represented new career bests, while the 500 free was a season-best.
Outside of his wins, Vitiello hit the wall second with a personal best of 46.54 in the 100 free. He also took second in the 400 IM and fifth in the 200 fly, clocking personal bests of 3:56.09 and 1:54.17, respectively.
