If the handshake controversy with Team India wasn’t enough, the PCB is rocked by yet another. Former Pakistan cricket Atiq-Uz-Zaman has levelled serious charges against the board recently. The 49-year-old has slammed the board for corruption, over sub-standard kits of the Pakistani team, during their Asia Cup 2025 clash against the UAE.

Sub-standard kits for PAK players in Asia Cup?

He added, that while the other teams had dry-kit kits, the Pakistani team was sweating through the jerseys. He allegedly accused the PCB of issuing tender for the kits, to ‘friends and not professionals’.

“Pakistan players sweating through low-quality kits while others wear proper dry-fits. This is what happens when tenders go to friends, not professionals. Corruption dripping more than the sweat,” Zaman wrote on X. As far as the clash is concerned, even though PAK didn’t bat in the best manner possible, they beat UAE quite comfortably.

PAK skipper Salman Ali Agha too admitted slip ups in batting and said, “We got the job done but we needed to bat better in the middle overs. The bowlers did well. We haven’t batted to our best yet. If we batted well, we would have ended up with 170-180. Shaheen is a match winner. His batting has improved. Abrar has been outstanding. He is someone who is bringing us back into the games. We are ready for any challenge. If we play good cricket, we can be good against any side.”

As far as the match is concerned, Pakistan scored 146/9 with Fakhar Zaman scoring 50 from 36 and then Shaheen Afridi scoring 29 from only 14 deliveries lower down the order. Saim Ayub scored his third duck in the competition.
