Chick-fil-A has a surprisingly wide variety of dipping sauces. Whether you’re craving something sweet, creamy, smoky or a mix of all three, Chick-fil-A has a sauce for you.
If you’re a Chick-fil-A regular (hi, it's me), you probably have your go-to sauce that you ask for every time. Branching out can be intimidating, and it’s understandable to be hesitant about dipping your precious nuggets, sandwich or fries in something you’ve never tried before. If a sauce isn’t for you, it can feel like a waste of good food.
Interested in moving away from your go-to Chick-fil-A sauce, but don’t want to fly blind? Here’s what I discovered when I dipped my way through the entire line.

How I Tested the Chick-fil-A Sauces
Because Chick-fil-A sauces work with a variety of foods, we tried them with nuggets and fries. We tested the sauces once, then tested them again to confirm our findings. To make sure all of the options were given a fair shake, we tested them all in the same sitting, with sips of water in between to help cleanse our palates.

8 Chick-fil-A Sauces, Ranked Worst to Best
Everyone craves something a little different with their Chick-fil-A meal. So, if you love a sauce that was a miss with me and my fellow testers, more power to you. But here’s our honest take after several rounds of testing.
8. Chick-fil-A Polynesian Sauce
The Polynesian sauce had a sweet, tangy, slightly fruity profile. I didn’t hate it, but I didn’t love it either. The texture was a turn-off right away—it’s syrupy, sticky and a little gelatinous, which wasn’t visually appealing. Flavor-wise, it leaned too sweet for me, especially with waffle fries. It worked better with nuggets, but I wouldn’t recommend it on a classic Chick-fil-A sandwich with butter and pickles. It's not bad, but it's not one I’d reach for again.

5. Chick-fil-ASweet & Spicy Sriracha Sauce
This one divided the house. I expected real heat, but despite nailing the sriracha flavor, it’s surprisingly mild. My kids actually liked that it wasn’t fiery, while I wished for more kick. It pairs nicely with nuggets and sandwiches, but the sweet element of the sauce felt odd with fries. If the idea of sriracha without the burn appeals to you, this one is worth trying.
4. Chick-fil-A Garden Herb Ranch Sauce
Worth noting: My 8-year-old, who is very picky about his ranch, happily dug into this one, and went back for seconds. In fact, he asked me to pack this in his lunch the next day, which is really saying something. Overall, we all agreed that this sauce has a perfectly creamy texture and taste that’s worth adding to your regular sauce rotation. (And maybe grab a few extras so you have some at home.)

3. Chick-fil-AZesty Buffalo Sauce
This sauce pairs incredibly well with nuggets and chicken sandwiches and is also well-rounded enough to work with fries without overshadowing their delicate flavor. The Zesty Buffalo sauce isn’t creamy, and it’s slightly thinner than some of the other sauces, making it easy to pour over whatever you’re eating.
2. Chick-fil-AHoney Roasted BBQ Sauce
This was the surprise standout. Unlike the other sauces, it comes in a squeeze packet, but don’t let that fool you—it’s loaded with smoky, slightly sweet flavor that pairs beautifully with everything on the menu. My kids couldn’t get enough, and one was genuinely upset when I tossed the leftover packets. My only gripe is the packaging—it’s less convenient for dipping—but flavor-wise, this one’s nearly perfect.
1. Chick-fil-A Sauce

The brand’s namesake sauce is sweet, tangy, smoky and creamy, hitting pretty much every note you can hope for in a sauce. It’s kind of barbecue-ish, a little mustardy and yet still creamy. I hoard Chick-fil-A sauce and whip it out when I’m preparing foods that need a little something extra—it’s that good, and it’s nice to see that my go-to still reigns supreme against all of the other sauces.
