ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The first-ever conference on BIPOC Game Studies kicks off on Friday in Rochester and runs till Sunday at The Strong National Museum of Play.
This groundbreaking event aims to celebrate and explore the work done by Black, Indigenous, and people of color in the gaming industry. Organizers say the BIPOC gaming community is growing.
“So one of the things I think is really exciting is this conference itself shows an opportunity for us to look at expanding the way that people think about BIPOC game studies, to look at it as global and community,” said Dr. Lindsay Grace, Knight Chair in Interactive Media at the University of Miami.
The conference is co-hosted with Rochester Institute of Technology and the University of Miami.
