One of the most anticipated games on Saturday is No. 6 Georgia vs. No. 15 Tennessee. Both teams entered the season with something to prove, as they both boast new quarterbacks after losing their starters via the transfer portal. Since the 2025 season began, these two teams have been the talk of college football, as both have remain undefeated and look like possible playoff teams. However, on Saturday, only one team can walk away with a victory while also shifting the opposing teams rank.
The Volunteers and Bulldogs both have offenses with high-scoring capability, but a high-scoring game may not be the story by the end of the night, at least that’s what FOX analyst Joel Klatt predicted during his show on Thursday.
“I do believe that this is going to be a low-scoring affair,” Klatt said. “I think that it’s going to be difficult on Tennessee, and because of the road environment, it’s going to be difficult on Georgia. I don’t see either of these teams getting past 21.”
Not only does Klatt predict the score to not exceed 21 points, but he also believes the Bulldogs will come away victorious.
“I wanted to take Tennessee in this game. I can’t do it. I can’t do it. I’ve got to go with Georgia,” said Klatt. “And just think of this too I know that this is an intangible, but it’s, it’s correct. It’s correct. One of these teams has been told how good they are for two weeks. That’s Tennessee.”
Klatt believes the Bulldogs have more to prove after a “poor” performance in Week 2 against Austin Peay, and with a great defensive mind in head coach Kirby Smart, Smart will be eager to display the intense defense the Bulldogs have been known for over the years.
“The other team has Kirby Smart, absolutely killing them this week after a poor performance and a win over Austin Peay. You are going to get, and I promise you this, the absolutely most focused version, physical version, and intense version of Georgia that you can possibly get because of the week of practice that they just had under Kirby Smart. We know that. So I’ve got to go Georgia here,” said Klatt.
The Bulldogs and Volunteers will face off at 3:30 p.m. ET at Neyland Stadium and will be broadcast on ESPN.
