ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A 34-year-old man has pleaded guilty to manslaughter in relation to a deadly shooting at the Black Bear Pub in 2021.

On Nov. 13, 2021, 29-year-old Sean Semprie was found dead with multiple gunshot wounds in the back parking lot of Black Bear Pub on West Ridge Road in Rochester, according to prosecutors.
Prosecutors say Jose Acevedo got into an argument with Semprie inside the bar. After the bar closed, they say Acevedo shot him.
On March 11, 2024, an indictment was unsealed charging Acevedo with homicide. He was already in custody on unrelated gun charges.

Acevedo will be sentenced to 22 years to prison plus five years of post-release supervision.
