Police continued to investigate the death of a person who was fatally shot Wednesday night in the neighborhood of Ocean Beach in San Diego, authorities said Thursday.
Officers responded at around 11:30 p.m. to reports of shots fired near the burger chain Hodad’s, located at 5010 Newport Ave. The victim was discovered suffering from at least one gunshot wound, according to the San Diego Police Department.
It was unclear if the victim died at the scene or a hospital. The person’s name has not yet been released.
The suspect was reported at large, and a homicide investigation was underway, police said.
The circumstances surrounding the shooting were unclear.
