ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The Rochester Police Accountability Board (PAB) Wednesday hosted a community listening session to discuss findings from its latest oversight investigation into the Rochester Police Department’s (RPD) 911 response times.

The report analyzed call data from Monroe County’s Emergency Communications Department, revealing patterns in delays, priorities, and geographic disparities. The board identified six findings.

One finding showed a 3% increase in response to the most serious calls within 10 minutes. However, performance declined for less serious calls.

RPD generally does not comment on PAB activities.

“Any conversations regarding response times should factor in that we’re (RPD) over 100 officers short,” Capt. Greg Bello said. “Anyone interested in applying should go to www.jointherpd.com.”

The PAB’s report can be viewed here.
