TAC Titan’s Annabelle Martin has verbally committed to join the Brigham Young University’s women’s program for the fall of 2026.
I am absolutely thrilled to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic journey at Brigham Young University!! I am so grateful to be blessed with this amazing opportunity. A massive thank you to my family, teammates, Coach Brent, Ethan, Megan, Jenny, Lizzy, Tyler, Jason, the amazing BYU coaches and team, and everyone that has supported me up to this point. It’s a dream come true!! GO COUGS!!!!
Martin competed in four events at the Speedo Junior National Championships earlier this summer. She set a lifetime best in the 400 IM, where she touched 58th in 5:01.35. She also swam all three breaststroke events, finishing 110th in the 50 breast (34.71), 100th in the 100 breast (1:14.47), and 36th in the 200 breast (2:36.88).
The New Hill, NC native had an impressive showing at the Speedo Sectionals in Cary this past March, setting new best marks in the 200 free (1:55.28), 1000 free (10:15.98), 1650 free (17:04.39) and 200 breast (2:14.76). She also put forth very respectable performances in the 100 breast (1:04.19), 200 IM (2:06.51) and 400 IM (4:21.41).
At last season’s North Carolina State Swimming Championships, Martin swam a lifetime best in the 500 free, touching in 5:01.50, finishing 11th overall. She also added a 14th-place finish in the 100 breast (1:04.71)

Based on Martin’s best times, she would have qualified near the top of the ‘C’ final in the 200 breast (18th), the consolation final in the 400 IM (11th), and 26th overall in the 1650 free.
Martin possesses a relatively rare skillset, one that integrates both breaststroke and distance freestyle events, with the potential of future IM growth, making her a very dynamic and useful recruit with a variety of possible competition lineups.
Her scoring potential is evident within the Big 12, and she has only gotten better year after year. This shows plenty of future firepower for BYU within the conference for years to come.
BYU adds Martin to its 2026 recruiting class alongside Summer Thresher.
