PERINTON, N.Y. — Monroe County sheriff’s deputies say a car hit a school bus while backing out on Tuesday morning in Perinton, causing a staff member on board a leg injury.
Five children and two staff members were on board at the time. The crash happened around 7:50 a.m. while the bus was traveling through an apartment complex on Balsam Lane, not far from Fairport Nine Mile Point Road.
Deputies say the car backed out of a parking spot and hit the side of the bus. The children were wearing seat belts and the staff were standing. No one was injured except for the staff member.
Deputies say the driver who hit the bus will be ticketed.
