Florida defensive lineman Brendan Bett was ejected from Saturday’s loss to South Florida late in the fourth quarter after appearing to spit on a USF player.
Bett, a redshirt sophomore from Gadsden, Alabama, was immediately flagged by officials for unsportsmanlike conduct and tossed from the game. The penalty came after a USF run for no gain and it followed on the heels of a 13-yard pass interference penalty that moved the chains after a second-and-10 incompletion.

The Bulls then wound the clock all the way down and kicked a game-winning field goal from 20 yards out to knock off the 13th-ranked Gators.
Florida (1-1) will have to regroup quickly. The Gators go on the road next Saturday to face No. 3 LSU. After that, they face No. 5 Miami on the road and then No. 7 Texas at home.
