Egypt’s modern pentathlon team player, Moataz Wael, won the gold medal at the UIPM 2025 Pentathlon World Championships held in Lithuania.
Wael made history by becoming the first Egyptian player in history to win the individual gold medal at the world championships, an unprecedented achievement.
He finished first with a total of 1,579 points. France’s Mathis Rochat came in second, winning the silver medal with a total of 1,562 points, followed by Czech Matěj Lukeš in third place, winning the bronze medal with a total of 1,547 points.
Egypt will be represented in the tournament by players Moataz Wael, Muhannad Shaaban, Mohamed Hatem, Omar Amer, Mohamed Hossam, Osama Madhat, Mostafa Abu-Amer, and Saif Suleiman, and by players Farida Abu-Hashem, Malak Ismail, Jenna al-Gendy, Jana Attia, Alia Enayat, and Sara Amr.
