ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Academy Award Winner Rita Moreno will be heading to the Flower City this fall to be honored by the George Eastman Museum.
Moreno will be honored with the George Eastman Award for distinguished contribution to the art of cinema.
Film artists such as Meryl Streep, Julia Roberts, Audrey Hepburn, Michael Keaton, and many more have also been given this award.
Her performance as Anita in West Side Story in 1961 won her an Academy Award “Best Actress.” She was also the third artist to have gotten an Emmy, Oscar, and Tony Award in 1977.
The award ceremony will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 29 at 8 p.m. in the Dryden Theatre. Both the ceremony and the gala are open to the public.
George Eastman Museum members will have access to advanced ticket sales starting on Wednesday, Sept. 10 at 10 a.m. Tickets will go on sale to the general public on Wednesday, Sept. 17 at 10 a.m.
