HONEOYE FALLS, N.Y. — A man is charged with DWI after a car hit a gas line near a house in the Village of Honeoye Falls on Tuesday night, forcing the residents to evacuate.

It happened on Ontario Street around 10:40 p.m. News10NBC’s photojournalist saw Monroe County sheriff’s deputies and firefighters at the scene.

Witnesses said the driver ran from the scene before deputies arrived. Deputies say they found the driver, identified as 28-year-old David Boyer of Rochester, after searching the area with a K9 unit.

He was taken into custody.
