Aurora police are searching for leads in a cold case shooting that killed a 54-year-old man in a liquor store parking lot four years ago, according to the department.

David Nash was shot to death outside the Bristol Pointe Liquor Store at 830 South Buckley Road just before 8 p.m. on Aug. 25, 2021, according to a news release from the Aurora Police Department.

The shopping center is in central Aurora, near Buckley Space Force Base.

Surveillance video released by police on Monday shows an unidentified man wearing a blue backpack walking toward Nash at the shopping center entrance. The two stopped and talked before heading in different directions.

That’s when the suspect suddenly stopped, pulled out a handgun and shot Nash multiple times, police said.

Paramedics took Nash to the hospital, where he later died from his injuries, police said.

Surveillance cameras in the area captured the suspect fleeing south through the center, and then west toward East Kentucky Avenue.

As of Monday, the fourth anniversary of the shooting, no suspects have been identified or arrested, police said.
