PITTSFORD, N.Y. — A driver is facing charges after Monroe County sheriff’s deputies say he was unresponsive behind the wheel, regained consciousness, and then sped away from them.
It all started when deputies responded to Hilltop Drive in Pittsford around 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Deputies say they were able to rouse the driver but he then drove off, hitting several mailboxes, parked cars, and trees. The car finally stopped after hitting a large tree on Crestview Drive.
The driver had cuts and bruises and was taken to the hospital, but is expected to recover. He’s charged with reckless driving and obstructing governmental administration, along with being issued multiple traffic tickets.
