Weld RE-4 School District will celebrate the opening of a new Career & Technical Education Center and addition next month.
The district will hold a ribbon cutting for the center and addition from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 17, according to a district news release.
The Career & Technical Education Center is approximately 26,000 feet and includes:
• A welding shop with attached classroom and storage for materials and tools.
• An agriculture science lab.
• A greenhouse.
• A diesel mechanic shop.
The center is the result of a $271 million bond package the community supported in November 2022, according to the release.
The addition project is just over 42,000 square feet, bringing the school to it’s intended full capacity of 1,200 students and includes:
• Eighteen classrooms, including flexible learning spaces and science labs.
• A culinary kitchen with catering prep space, pantry and wet storage.
• Additional collaboration spaces, teacher work rooms and conference rooms.
