Passing cold front Sunday will bring welcomed fall-like weather pattern to the Charlotte region ...Middle East

News by : (QUEEN CITY NEWS) -

CHARLOTTE (PINPOINT WEATHER) -- We are tracking more sunshine Sunday, but also a slightly higher chance of a shower or storm later this afternoon and evening.

Temperatures are starting in the 60s this morning, and with more sunshine today, highs will climb into the mid-80s this afternoon.

A cold front will approach the region later today, allowing for a few more clouds this afternoon and a low-end shower or thunderstorm chance. Not expecting a washout, but have the poncho handy for the Charlotte FC game this evening, and have the rain gear handy for any other outdoor plans late today.

Behind today's cold front, we will be tracking some refreshing air. Anticipate humid conditions remaining in place for tonight, with temperatures falling back into the 60s. It will be a quiet morning for Charlotte-Mecklenburg County School students who will be back out at the bus stop Monday morning.

We will still experience high temperatures in the mid-80s on Monday, but the humidity will be dropping throughout the day, which will make for a pleasant start to the new school year and work week.

High temperatures will be in the 70s and lower 80s through the middle of the week, and we will remain dry as well. Overnight low temperatures during that period will fall into the upper 50s and lower 60s, leading to delightful mornings.

Although there will be a slight warmup into the mid-80s by Labor Day weekend, the overall pattern looks to remain cooler than average to begin the month of September.

Tracking the Tropics
