ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A 32-year-old woman has been convicted for physically and verbally abusing a six-year-old child with special needs.
Nicole Guilds was convicted for endangering the welfare of an incompetent or physically disabled person. Guilds, who was a home health care nurse, was hired to watch the child in their home, who has various health issues that requires 24/7 care.
According to Monroe County Sheriff deputies, the parents had concerns and checked home surveillance footage, and turned it over to the sheriff’s office in December of 2023. Deputies say there were at least five different occasions in a one-month period of physical and verbal abuse.
As a result of investigations, Guilds was arrested, and her nursing license was suspended at the time of her arrest.
Guilds back is set to be sentenced in October.
