NEWARK, N.Y. — A 43-year-old man was arrested in Florida after being accused of physical and sexual abuse that happened in Wayne County.
According to Newark Police, they say Daniel Shaffer physically abused an adult and a child, saying he sexually abused the child for years.
The investigation started in 2021 with a call to CPS. Police say Shaffer moved to Florida during the investigation. Shaffer was found by Gainesville Police in Florida who arrested him on unrelated charges, according to Newark Police.
Shaffer was extradited back to New York, and is in the Wayne County Jail awaiting arraignment.
