ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Boys & Girls Club of Rochester held a ceremony on Wednesday to award scholarships to more than 30 kids and teens for college or private school.
The students were chosen based on their character, good deeds in the community, and how long they’ve been with the club.
“It can change your life totally based on where you go to school,” said Dwayne Mahoney, CEO of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Rochester. “And so, we’ve seen a lot of great results of kids who have switched to a more rigorous education and the trajectory of their lives is just very different.”
The scholarship started with a $1.5 million donation from Kevin and Stacey Morgan back in 2021. Kevin Morgan told News10NBC he wants to give kids the chance to get the education they want.
