A FURNITURE chain nicknamed “Little Ikea” by fans has opened three new sites as part of a wider UK expansion.
The family-owned Danish chain has developed a cult following since first launching on the UK high street in 2016.

Harrogate, Canary Wharf, and Stirling each welcomed a new store as part of a wider development strategy.
The lifestyle and homeware retailer shared plans to launch 60 new stores across Europe next year.
According to the beloved brand, it has established the goal of reaching 100 UK stores by 2027.
The major expansion comes as many retailers are closing locations in response to changing shopper habits and falling footfall.
However, Søstrene Grene previously confirmed it is increasing its investment in physical retail.
The chain currently operating more than 330 locations in 17 European countries.
According to the Danish brand, it sees long-term opportunity in bricks-and-mortar retail formats.
“Customers in the UK have responded incredibly positively to the Søstrene Grene concept,” said Group CEO and co-owner Mikkel Grene.
“We continue to see strong footfall, high levels of engagement, and real appetite for new locations – even in areas where other retailers are pulling back.”
He added that the development gives the company “confidence not only to expand, but to do so in a way that supports and complements local high streets”.
Unique layout
Søstrene Grene is known for its Scandinavian, design-led approach.
The brand offers a curated selection of homeware, kitchen items, gifts, stationery, as well as seasonal ranges.
Each store is built around a maze-like layout, similar to that of Flying Tiger Copenhagen.
This format promotes slow browsing and discovery, inspired by the principles of simplicity and hygge.

Ikea stores also follow a similar floor plan, allowing shoppers the opportunity to browse all products as they make their way through the store.
