ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is warning people to watch out for cheap knockoffs of the popular “Labubu” dolls, as they can be dangerous for children.

CPSC sent out a warning about “Lafufus,” which they say is a fake version of the dolls sold by Pop Mart.

The CPSC warns that the knockoffs break apart easily, which results in small pieces coming out that can become choking hazards. They also say the plush figures and keychains are small enough to fit in a child’s mouth, blocking their airway.

CPSC is urging people to not buy the knockoffs and to stop using them immediately.

According to NBC, many people took to social media saying their “Lafufus” often broke, some with heads or eyes coming off them entirely.
