ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The City of Rochester is looking for someone to redevelop Adlai E. Stevenson School No. 29.
The city took over management of the building in May. Now, they are looking for proposals from developers that will creatively adapt the building to meet the needs of the neighborhood.
The school, which is on Kirkland Road off Genesee Street in Rochester, was built in 1964 and includes 37 classrooms, an auditorium, gym, cafeteria, two kitchens and a library.
In September of 2023, the Rochester City School District announced the plan to reconfigure the district, which included the possible closure of eleven schools and five buildings.
