ROCHESTER, N.Y. – A woman contacted News10NBC about her 75-year-old father, who she said was assaulted at a store on Culver Road on Sunday. Crista Spampinato, shared surveillance footage of the incident.
Spaminato said her father was seriously injured when he was shoved to the ground, resulting in a broken hip and fractured neck. She said he underwent surgery on Monday.
The surveillance video shows an SUV driven by Spampinato’s father pulling into a parking spot. Spampinato claims her father honked at a woman and her two children to indicate he was pulling into the store.
About 30 seconds later, the video shows him getting out of his car and speaking with a different woman in a red shirt, who was parked in the next car over.
The footage then shows a confrontation escalating, with the man being pushed to the ground and falling on his side. The woman stands over him, continues yelling, and then gets back into her car and leaves.
News10NBC’s Kristi Blake reported that the station has reached out to the Rochester Police Department to check if they are investigating the incident. They also plan to speak with Spaminato.
