For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.
Joslynn Grace from Topeka, Kansas has announced her commitment to continue her academic and athletic careers at University of Nebraska Kearney beginning in the 2025-2026 school year.
“UNK feels like home. The team is so kind and welcoming. Coach Trelka’s coaching style aligns with my goals for the future and I cannot wait to continue to improve in the sport through his guidance and knowledge. I’m so excited to be a Loper and continue my swimming career at UNK!”
Grace swims for Topeka Swim Association and most recently competed at Sectionals in Columbia. There she finaled in the 200 breast finishing 28th in a lifetime best 2:49.25. She also swam a best time 1:19.69 in the 100 breast for 45th.
She just finished her senior year at Seaman High School out of Topeka. This past May, she finished 4th in both the 100 breast (1:07.62) and 200 IM (2:10.73) at the Kansas High School 5-1A State Championships. She was slightly faster in prelims of the 200 IM with a 2:10.17 but both swims marked personal best times.
In addition to swimming, Grace also ran cross country during her freshman and sophomore years at Seaman High School.
Grace’s Best SCY Times Are:
100 breast: 1:07.62 200 breast: 2:28.59 200 IM: 2:10.17The University of Nebraska Kearney women finished 7th out of nine teams at the 2025 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Championships with 423 points, finishing just behind 6th place CSU Pueblo that had 470 points. Joslynn Grace joins sister Gabby Grace who will be in her senior year this upcoming fall.
Based on her best times, Joslynn Grace is a huge pick up for the team. Her best time in the 100 breast would have led the team by over two seconds this past season while her 200 breast would have been the fastest on the team by over five seconds. Her 200 IM would have led the team as well. She would have been at the top of the ‘C’ final in all three events.
Grace is set to arrive this fall as a member of the class of 2029 along with Jacey McGraw. McGraw hails from Missouri and primarily swims free and IM.
