Former Arkansas wide receiver Isaac TeSlaa just keeps producing for the Detroit Lions this preseason.
The Lions made TeSlaa their 3rd-round pick (70th overall) of the 2025 draft, and he’s already showed them that they just might have gotten a steal in that 3rd round. TeSlaa caught his 2nd touchdown of the preseason in Saturday afternoon’s 24-17 loss to the Miami Dolphins. The game was Detroit’s first home preseason game, so TeSlaa got to show his new home fans what he can do for the first time.
They had to come away impressed, as were the game announcers after his 18-yard TD catch from Kyle Allen with 30 seconds left in the first half that gave the Lions a 14-7 lead. The nifty back-shoulder grab capped off a first half that saw TeSlaa catch 4 passes for 41 yards. The game announcers raved about TeSlaa’s hands after the touchdown grab, and starting quarterback Jared Goff raised his arms in approval after the catch.
Here is the video of TeSlaa’s latest preseason highlight for the Lions, which was celebrated by Arkansas football’s social media account:

— Arkansas Razorback Football (@RazorbackFB) August 16, 2025TeSlaa did all of his work in that first half on Saturday, but it continued a strong preseason for the former Razorback. He had 2 catches for 46 yards in the preseason opener on July 31 against the Los Angeles Chargers, which just happened to be on national TV since it was the Hall of Fame Game in Canton, Ohio.
Then last week against the Atlanta Falcons, he had 2 catches for 18 yards, including his first TD of the preseason. That touchdown was also from Allen, who connected with TeSlaa on an 11-yard scoring pass late in the 2nd quarter in Atlanta.
On Saturday afternoon, it was finally time for the home fans to see this rookie from Arkansas who had impressed in his first 2 preseason games. It was a homecoming of sorts for TeSlaa, who is a Michigan native and now is trying to earn a spot with Michigan’s NFL team after 2 impressive seasons in Fayetteville.
TeSlaa finished his 2-year run at Arkansas with 62 catches for 896 yards and 5 TDs in 25 games, 17 of which he started.
Now, he’s trying to stick in the NFL, and so far he’s doing a very good job of ensuring just that.
