Reasons to Watch, AKME Ranked Worst Front Office in NBA, Boozer Talks DRose, and Other Bulls Bullets ...Middle East

The bar has been remarkably low, but I do believe there are more reasons to watch the Chicago Bulls this season compared to last.

Whether it be Matas Buzelis’ development, Coby White’s contract year, or Noa Essengue’s first taste of NBA action, the Bulls will have some key storylines to watch no matter where they sit in the standings. Heck, even keeping a close eye on guys like Kevin Huerter and Zach Collins could be important for the future of the franchise. Might either prove to be another valuable piece of the puzzle worth re-signing next summer? If one thing is certain, both make a lot of sense with the team’s new offensive identity.

Anyhow, I went ahead and circled some specific matchups that are worth monitoring for this team in the coming months. While I fully recognize some of these may not feel like the most appealing battles, I try to explain why they will hold some extra weight for this young group.

Yes, There Are a Still Games Worth Noting on the Chicago Bulls’ Schedule

The Chicago Bulls’ front office continues to be the butt of the joke. Yahoo Sports’ Ben Rohrbach ranked current NBA decision-makers by considering three key factors: Trades, Draft Picks, and Free agency. More specifically, he turned each of those categories into baseball-like statistics, and I encourage you to read through that explanation in the article itself. As I’m sure you can imagine, the timid Arturas Karnisovas ended up ranking rather low on the list … like as low as you can get. Rohrback had the Bulls’ executive as the worst front office face in the NBA. He pointed toward their repeated Play-In Tournament exits and extended stay in the middle – aka the worst place to be in the NBA. Karnisovas’ most damning “stats” showed up in the trade category, where Rohrback did not hand out a single hit. The best the Bulls’ leader has done in a deal is record a “walk,” which is considered a trade that turns out to be a net-neutral investment. Hard to disagree with that! This latest front office slamming comes in the wake of CBS Sports ranking the Bulls’ brass 29th on their list. Joe Dumars of the Pelicans took the title of “worst.” We also saw Chicago ridiculed heavily back in February, when it was shared that the Bulls were consistently placed in the bottom five of NBA front offices by their colleagues. Rarely do we witness a front office this heavily criticized pull a 180. Some sort of internal change is typically needed, whether that be moving on from the head decision-maker or his right-hand man. Nevertheless, the Bulls have zero plans of doing that. And they made that clear with another round of secret extensions this summer! The former Bulls forward recently declared that his teammate would have won three or four championships if he had not gone down with an injury. Do I think that’s a tad bold? Absolutely, but I do believe that bringing at least one Larry O’Brien back to Chicago was in the realm of possibility. LeBron James was the only thing standing in the Bulls’ way, and he eventually dipped out of Miami! A fully healthy DRose and Jimmy Butler!? That team is dominating a wide-open East.
