ROCHESTER, N.Y. – A bit of a cooler start across WNY this morning as high pressure, calm winds, and clear skies promoted plenty of heat loss overnight. That high pressure will also promote sunny skies and warmer temperatures than yesterday however, with highs in the mid to upper 80s and dry air reigning supreme. This means the air will be very comfortable to the skin, making for great conditions for all things outdoors. Air quality will be better than yesterday as smoke pushes off to the west.
Tonight the dry air remains, then Saturday it stays down again but the heat ramps up. It could be our 12th 90 degree day of the year, alongside plenty of sunshine, so the best time to do anything outside will be the morning. Humidity rises overnight Saturday and spikes on Sunday ahead of a cold front. That front will kick up some showers and storms Sunday morning, but we’re still uncertain on the exact timing, coverage, and intensity. Make sure to check back in later today as we’ll have the latest observations and forecast data.
The workweek starts off beautifully as we drop to the 70s for the first time since August 2nd, alongside sunny skies and dry air. We stay in the 70s Tuesday and Wednesday, but we’re tracking the possibility of some rain then. There’s a decent chance it’ll stay to our south, but stay tuned for more updates. Seasonably warm temperatures return to close out next week.
