Riyadh — Saudi football is once again shaking up the global transfer market, with reports of a staggering offer for French superstar Kylian Mbappé following stalled negotiations with Real Madrid’s Brazilian forward Vinícius Júnior.

According to the Spanish sports outlet Defensa Central, Saudi officials have prepared an unprecedented €350 million ($406 million) bid to secure Mbappé’s services — a figure that would shatter existing football transfer records. Sources suggest the offer includes Cristiano Ronaldo–level perks, ranging from luxury housing and private travel to lucrative sponsorship deals.

The move is seen as part of Saudi Arabia’s ongoing strategy to attract the biggest names in world football, following high-profile signings in recent transfer windows. Football analysts note that such a deal would not only boost the domestic league’s global profile but also significantly disrupt the European football market.

While Real Madrid had been focused on renewing Vinícius Júnior’s contract, those talks have reportedly stalled, creating an opportunity for Saudi clubs to redirect their attention toward Mbappé. It remains unclear whether Paris Saint-Germain, Mbappé’s current club, would be willing to sanction such a sale.

If the deal materializes, it would rival — and possibly surpass — the landmark contracts of Lionel Messi, Neymar, and Ronaldo, signaling a new era of mega-transfers driven by Gulf football investments.
