A boil order continued Tuesday in parts of a northwest Chicago suburb, where a popular attraction has canceled its events for the day in a cautionary move.
Schaumburg officials said the boil order, which began Monday morning, would continue for 24 to 36 hours following an emergency water main break in the area. The village confirmed to NBC Chicago the order remained in effect as of 6 a.m. Tuesday.
The order led Medieval Times in Schaumburg to cancel its scheduled show Tuesday “out of an abundance of caution.”
In an email to NBC Chicago, the popular suburban attraction said it made the decision to cancel the upcoming show, initially scheduled for 6:45 p.m. Tuesday, after “careful consideration.”
“We have secured clean drinking water for all of our horses and onsite team members,” the email added.
Medieval Times said it was contacting guests who had tickets to Tuesday’s dinner and tournament, which will be rescheduled for a future date. Guests can also choose a full refund, Medieval Times said.
The attraction, located at 2001 N. Roselle Rd., is one of several properties in the area under the boil order, according to the Village of Schaumburg. Other locations in Schaumburg under the boil order include Crestwood Court; Kristin Drive; Willow Brook Court; Sleepy Hollow Court; Eastwood Court; Idle Wild Court; 1 to 55 Commerce Drive; 1901 Roselle Road; Wilkening Court; White Oak Lane; Amada Court; Amanda Lane; Arbor Glen Boulevard; White Oak Court; Center Court and Central Road.
According to the Village of Schaumburg, the boil order was initiated around 4:30 a.m. Monday following an emergency water main break and water shutdown, which was repaired overnight.
