Mrs. Debbie Meadows

Debbie Meadows was born on April 12, 1955, in Carthage, TN and passed away at Cookeville Regional Medical Center on Friday, August 8, 2025, at the age of 70.

Debbie was the daughter of Harold Ottis Carter and Clella Bernese Billingsley Carter. She married Richmond Meadows, Jr. on August 11, 1990. She owned several businesses over the years. She cooked for the Sutton Store in Granville. At one point, she was an agent for Liberty National Insurance and had an office in Cookeville. She owned and operated Season’s Floral and Design and Season’s Restaurant in Gainesboro. Also, she owned and operated Meadows Home Furnishings for a period of time. Debbie was an excellent cook, and she enjoyed cooking for others as well as her family. Her pride and joy was her family. She loved being called “Mammy”. She was known for her famous waffles.  Debbie was fond of traveling, shopping, and having her nails and hair done on a regular basis. She loved to pamper herself and her family. Her love for food not only extended to her cooking; however, she enjoyed eating out and trying new foods or restaurants. She was happiest when her family gathered around the table to eat the meals, she had lovingly prepared. Debbie leaves a vacant spot in the family that can never be filled by anyone else.

She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents: James and Clara Carter, and husband: Richmond Meadows, Jr. who passed 02-27-2005.

Debbie is survived by her daughter: Misty D. Stewart of Baxter, TN; brother: Max (Carol) Carter of Algood, TN; grandchildren: Brooklyn (Mikey) Gibson of Gainesboro, TN, Courtney (Kallep Lykins) Scott of Livingston, TN, Latosha (Andrew Gantt) Meadows of Cookeville, TN, Jordan (Helen Copeland) Carter of Gainesboro, TN, Nolan Meadows of Mt. Juliet, TN, Dakota Rodgers of Livingston, TN; great grandchildren: Raylan Gibson, Karson Lykins, Cooper Lykins, Lily Carter, Natalie Gantt; nephew: Tyler Meadows; niece: Brooklyn Meadows; stepdaughter: Marsha Meadows Clariday and stepson: Richie Meadows. Debbie is survived by many cousins that she cherished.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm and Wednesday from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm in the chapel of Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at 1:00 at Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home with Brother Mike Fox and Brother Don Billingsley officiating. Burial will follow in Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery in Cookeville, TN.

Memorial donations may be made in Debbie’s honor to the American Cancer Society or the American Kidney Fund by contacting the business office of the funeral home.
