Medieval Times in suburban Schaumburg will cancel its next scheduled show “out of an abundance of caution” after an emergency water main break sparked a boil order expected to last for at least 24 hours.

In an email to NBC Chicago, the popular suburban attraction said it made the decision to cancel the show, initially scheduled for 6:45 p.m. Tuesday, after “careful consideration.”

“We have secured clean drinking water for all of our horses and onsite team members,” the email added.

Medieval Times said it was contacting guests who had tickets to Tuesday’s dinner and tournament, which will be rescheduled for a future date. Guests can also choose a full refund, Medieval Times said.

A boil order that could last up to two days has been issued for several parts of suburban Schaumburg including a popular attraction after an emergency water main break forced street closures and a water shutdown as crews worked overnight on repairs.

According to the Village of Schaumburg, the water main break impacted properties in more than a dozen locations throughout the village, including at Medieval Times, located at 2001 N. Roselle Rd.

While water was restored in the 4 a.m. hour, a boil order was in effect for at least the next 24 hours for the following locations, the village said: Medieval Times; Crestwood Court; Kristin Drive; Willow Brook Court; Sleepy Hollow Court; Eastwood Court; Idle Wild Court; 1 to 55 Commerce Drive; 1901 Roselle Road; Wilkening Court; White Oak Lane; Amada Court; Amanda Lane; Arbor Glen Boulevard; White Oak Court; Center Court and Central Road.

According to the Village, the boil order could last as long as 36 hours.

It wasn’t immediately clear if shows at Medieval Times were impacted. The attraction’s calendar showed no shows scheduled for Monday, Aug. 11, with the next show scheduled for 6:45 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 12.

Medieval Times did not immediately respond to NBC Chicago’s request for comment.
