Bhubaneswar: Amresh Kumar Jaiswal, Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer and former Conservator of Forests, Office of the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (PCCF), Aranya Bhawan, Bhubaneswar (Retired), was convicted today by the Special Judge, Special Court, Vigilance, Cuttack, in a disproportionate assets (DA) case.

Jaiswal, who was charge-sheeted by Odisha Vigilance for possessing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income has been sentenced to two years of rigorous imprisonment and fined Rs. 50,000.

Following the conviction, Odisha Vigilance has decided to approach the competent authority to seek stoppage of Jaiswal’s pension.
