ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (WHEC) – Sitting firmly on the cut line for the Buffalo Bills 53-man roster, wide receiver Tyrell Shavers did his best to sway the results in his favor.
Shavers, who caught one pass for 58 yards, finished with two catches and a team-high 70 receiving yards. For a player who seems to have his last shot at making the Bills roster, Shavers impressed.
However, head coach Sean McDermott is still looking for more.
“How good can (Shavers) become on special teams and what phases or how many phases can we get out of (Shavers),” said McDermott.
As it stands, Khalil Shakir, Joshua Palmer, and Keon Coleman are locks to make the team at WR. Curtis Samuel and Elijah Moore are likely next in line, leaving Shavers as the potential sixth and final wideout to make the active roster.
Shavers will have another shot to prove his worth on Aug. 17 as Buffalo plays at Chicago in their second preseason contest.
