Gibson, who plays Irene Heron in the series, is seen alongside Joshua Orpin (Home and Away) as Soames Forsyte. Other stars seen include Danny Griffin (Fate: The Winx Saga) as Jolyon Forsyte Jr, Tuppence Middleton (Downton Abbey: A New Era) as Frances Forsyte, and Eleanor Tomlinson (The Couple Next Door) as Louisa Byrne.
The synopsis for the series, which is set to debut on 5 later this autumn, says: "Desire, ambition and betrayal are at the heart of this sumptuous costume drama that follows the romances, family bonds and ambitions of the Forsytes, a prominent upper-class family in late 1800s London.
"The series is inspired by the novels known as the The Forsyte Saga, which were previously adapted with the same title. This new reimagining portrays events that take place before those covered in Galsworthy's classic books and brings romance to the forefront."

Meanwhile, Damien Timmer, chief creative officer at production company Mammoth Screen, added: "It’s been a joy working with Debbie Horsfield and our magnificent cast on series 1 of The Forsytes for Masterpiece on PBS.
The Forsyte Saga was previously adapted as a 10-episode series for ITV, which starred Damian Lewis and and Gina McKee.
