News by : (News10NBC) -

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Wildfire smoke is an issue once again today but so far is not as bad as Monday. The AQI, air quality index, Tuesday morning reading is just above 100. This time yesterday it was over 150. Even though it’s not as smoky we are still in the unhealthy for some range. That means elderly individuals and those with underlying lung and heart issues should limit time outdoors. Amounts of smoke with vary through the day and linger much of the week ahead. Outside of the smoke the weather Tuesday will be warm and dry with some sunshine.

Wednesday will bring more humidity with a small chance for some pop-up showers and thunder during the afternoon. We could all use some raindrops but nothing widespread is expected but any drops will be welcome. After Wednesday we are looking at another hot and dry stretch through the weekend with temps around 90 degrees in the forecast. Stay tuned to News10NBC for the latest on the air quality numbers and the summer heat on the way.
