CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Fans couldn't wait to walk through the Bank of America Stadium gates for Fan Fest 2025. They've had August 2 circled on their calendars since training camp started.

"Just being here. The excitement of being in this place. Everybody is so friendly, happy-go-lucky. Excited to get this game started," said Terry and Paula Handy, long-time Panthers fans.

The Panthers ended last season with only five wins and tied for 3rd in the NFC South. But there's optimism in the Queen City for the 2025 season.

The Handys predicted 13-15 wins, but long-time fan Darrick Armstrong says he's pushing for nine to 10.

"I think we got everything that we need in the positions that we need on defense and offense. I'm just excited to see what happens this year," Armstrong said.

The Panthers unexpectedly drafted Arizona wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan with the eighth overall pick, along with two edge players, Nic Scourton from Texas A&M, and Princely Umanmielen from Ole Miss.

They snagged Georgia running back Trevor Etienne and surprised fans by grabbing Jimmy Horn Jr. from Colorado in the late rounds.

Enthusiasts are hoping the newcomers, wide receiver Xavier Leggette's second year, and a boosted defense will bring the team success.

"I expect a breakout year this year. He did okay last year, getting his legs under his NFL legs under him. But I think this year he's going to be a breakout star. I really do," said Jessica and Jadie Joyce, five-year PSL holders.

"I think getting off the field and getting again that when it's time to down on third on get out of the field, so we get the offense and let the offense do their thing -- I just want to see them go out after the opposing quarterbacks.. Cause some turnovers or something. We want Jaycee to catch a few pick sixes to the end zone, celebrate with the squad," said two friends and Panthers fans, Kevin Hough and Stefan Arthur.

While older fans are hoping for the offense to do well, there were two 11-year-old girls hoping to see their crush, Bryce Young, lead the team to a great season.
