News by : (Parade) -

Fans have seen the vulnerable Jake, now 44, go from co-star Sig Hansen’s greenhorn to captain of his own ship while Jenna has provided constant emotional support. Jake has needed her after his journey from alcoholism to recovery. He’s also suffered a couple of shocking family deaths. Jake’s sister Chelsea Dawn Anderson passed away from complications of pneumonia in 2009 at age 37. Tragically, Jake’s father Keith Anderson disappeared in 2010, with his skeletal remains found in the woods of Washington state two years later. Keith’s cause of death is still a mystery.

A Deadliest Catch teaser has revealed that Jake will be in peril on the Season 21 premiere airing Friday, Aug. 1, 2025. A preview showed Jake and his Titan Explorer crew might have to abandon ship! While the fisherman always faces choppy waters, however, his marriage couldn’t be more solid.

According to Heavy, Jake first encountered Jenna in 2009 at a festival in Seattle. He was already famous due to Deadliest Catch, and recalled, “I was doing shipyard duty, and they had a festival going… All these people were coming up to get autographs. I had just walked out, and Jenna came up. Her family had jumped off the boat to come and get autographs from us. I autographed [to her], ‘You’re beautiful.'”

Jenna’s nieces urged the beauty to give Jake her phone number, so she did. Jake recalled, “I was trying to stay out of trouble, so I was living on the boat. I wasn’t going out and spending money; I was trying to save my money. She started calling me, and I started calling her, for a few weeks. We fell in love.”
