SAN FRANCISCO — The Giants’ longest-tenured pitcher is heading to the East Coast.
Setup man Tyler Rogers is being traded from the Giants to the New York Mets according to multiple reports, the first of potentially several moves ahead of Thursday’s trade deadline.
The team has yet to announce the move.
Rogers, 34, has been the most available reliever in all of baseball since he made his debut in 2019. The submariner leads all of baseball with 375 appearances, and he ends his tenure in San Francisco with a 2.79 ERA over 392 games with 142 holds and 19 saves.
Entering Monday, the Giants have lost 11 of their last 13 games and own a .500 record for the first time since the second game of the season. As San Francisco continues to slide in the standings, it’s very possible that more Giants could be on the move between now and 3 p.m. PST on Thursday.
