ROCHESTER, N.Y. – We’re not in a drought, but our lawns and gardens would tell us we need some rain! And we will be getting some on Thursday. Before then, we have one more day of warm and dry weather on Wednesday. A weak cold front dropping through may keep our temperatures held back a few degrees, in the mid and upper 80s on Wednesday, along with a few more clouds, but overall not much change to our weather from recent days.
That will change on Thursday morning. A trough and slug of rain moving in early will slowly sag southward through the day, clearing the area by late afternoon. There are still some questions regarding where the heaviest rain will set up, but it appears this could be south of the Thruway, where some pockets of heavier rain are possible. That being said, most of the Rochester region should see at least some rain. Temperatures will be held back in the 60s for much of the day, popping into the 70s late as the rain pulls away. If you have tickets to Bills Training camp on Thursday, plan on some wet weather.
High pressure builds back in on Friday, and will last through the weekend and into at least the first half of next week. That means more sunshine and dry weather. Initially, it’ll be comfortable with low humidity and temperatures in the 70s on Friday, but we’ll slowly climb back through the 80s over the weekend and into the mid and upper 80s by the middle of next week.
