ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Monday marks one year since the deadly mass shooting at Maplewood Park, where police say two people were killed, and five others were wounded.

Rochester Police say at least nine people fired guns on this day one year ago during a barbeque at Maplewood Park. One of the people killed, 25-year-old Tyasia Manning, was an employee of the City of Rochester.
Only one person has been arrested, Niger Johnson, who pleaded not guilty to his charges in February.

Johnson was charged with reckless endangerment and criminal possession of a weapon. Police have not accused Johnson of shooting anyone. They say he was among the at least nine people who fired guns.
In February, News10NBC’s Marsha Augustin spoke with Stephanie Dinkens, the mother of Phylicia Council, the other woman who died.

Dinkens told News10NBC that she hopes police can find whoever shot and killed her daughter that day.
“The question is will anybody be charged,” said Dinkens. “Because how are they going to know who held the gun, who did the fatal shot?”
