PLEASANTON — A 71-year-old man was critically injured in a Saturday afternoon shooting here, and police already have a suspect in custody.
The victim is being treated at a hospital for lifethreatening injuries, police said. The suspect, identified as 50-year-old Joshua Kaplan, was arrested Saturday but has not yet shown up on the Santa Rita Jail inmate log, records show.
Police haven’t released much information behind the shooting, other than saying it is believed to be an “isolated incident” with no ongoing public safety threat. They say they’re still investigating the motive and how the victim and suspect knew each other.
